Vita Soul Wilmering (b. 1996) makes films, installations, performances and music. Starting her projects from a basis in documentary film, she approaches the performative space which a camera evokes as an instrument to start friendships and to communicate on an intimate level with the people she works with. Through the use of fictional or performative elements, she makes people shift between roles and reality, to visualize questions such as how one adresses personal and familial history, or how we deal with loss and absence.
