Yukari Nakamichi
About
Yukari Nakamichi (b.1986. JP) makes sculptures, drawings, and installations. Her inspiration stems from the narratives she observes through daily life, such as fairy tales or superstitions from her childhood.
These narratives are then translated into object form. These objects take on identities of familiar objects like swimming pools, mom's skirts, ice cream wagons, wooden spoons, and animal-shaped butter.
Her intention with using these familiar forms is that the viewer finds something in common and empathizes with it, or laughs at its humour.
